This morning, my inbox had a campaign message that caught my eye. This is a big thing because honestly these message tend to sit in my inbox with read later or ignore. But this one caught my eye. It called for a celebration after a small group got together to resist the far right and they stopped to say Merci La France! This is an awesome way to pay tribute to goal and dream that got things started.
By setting a timer on today's task, I was able to go for some quick wins. I forgot that it took me forever to create a new rails app on my mac.. 2 minutes til I could see that nice welcome screen on my localhost:3000 screen. I needed that! Message, simplify, results give endorphins, .. almost as good as coffee.
Ah, long weekends, especially mini vacations. After trying to get in the groove, and stressing about anything and everything, I took a step back, remembered what I was working on, and like Nike, just did it. I was in the sweet spot. I'll call it "just". No worrying about goals, no perfectionism, "just". After a step back, bit of work, things are all right. I got some stuff done at a happy medium, no heat, no slacking, some where in the middle.
Today, I am going to see how long it takes to make a rails site. I will be making a website for the Rocky Mountain Funny Car race group. Heads down. I have done it all before, but this is start to finish. I will let you know. I will either be cheering or cursing!
June is here, unofficial time for the last pants in the garden, patio time, and the great out doors. I started a walk run routine, twice a day with the dog. It helps the lawn look nicer, that and some Lime Dolomite. This weekend we ventured on a 7km walk run in Bowness Park. Spiritual, Energy, and Mental revitalization. Ahhh.
After spending time on mini apps and rockymountainfloppers.com I found some old code for creativecalgary with the original design, it's now a hybrid of the original and new site. You can check it out at creativecalgary.ca I also added some content for exploring interesting places people and events in the city. I am working on making it easy to set up events, spot people, and places. A journey is searchable content.
